St. John 8:12-20 (NRSV)
Jesus reveals that he is the Light of the World that can be seen and illuminates our ability to see all things in light of him. The light of Christ illuminates our path by promising us light so that we can follow him and giving us his light so we can fully live. Jesus attested to this living truth with his own life.
Point #1: Jesus is the light that can be seen, so we can see. Verse 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
Point #2: Jesus promises clarity to those that follow him. Verse 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
Point #3: Jesus gives us his light so we can fully live. Verse 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
