It All Belongs to You – 1 Chronicles 29:10-20
God gives us gifts so that we can humbly present them as an intentional act of worship. When we remember that all we have belongs to God; we offer him praise for where he has prospered us, we generously return to God what has been given to us, and we rejoice for what we can give along with others. In exchange for our worship, God offers us a transformed heart that can experience the LORD’s transcendent presence.
Point #1: We offer prayerful praise for where God has prospered us. Verse 29:10 Therefore David blessed the Lord in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
Point #2: We generously return to God what has been given to us. Verse 29:14 “But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
Point #3: We rejoice for what we can give along with others. Verse 29:17 I know, my God, that you test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen your people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to you.
