Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the customizr domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the init action or later. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. Let’s Stay Together

Pastor Tyrone S. Hillman, Jr.

Mark 10:1-12 (ESV)

The most intimate of human experiences, the union between a woman and a man, can many times lead to the cross. Jesus presents us with radical teachings on marriage that should encourage married couples to stay together. The decision to stay together means that we embrace the heart of God, grow as disciples of Christ, and seek God’s best for others.

Point #1: Embrace the heart of God. Verse 10:5 And Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.

Point #2: Grow as a disciple of Christ. Verse 10:7 ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. 9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Point #3: Seek God’s best for others. Verse 10:11 And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, 12 and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Journaling Questions:

How should we respond to Christ invitation to demonstrate compassion in marriage? What can we learn from the passages that encourages us to stay together?
