Sermon Title: To Be Continued
Scripture: St. Mark 16:1-8
Point #1: The obstacles in our mind will not stop God’s promises. Verse 16:3 They had been saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”
Point #2: The promises of the gospel can be experienced in empty places. Verse 16:6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.
Point #3: Hold on to what Christ has promised. Verse 16:7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.”
Sermon Proper: (To Be Continued – St. Mark 16:1-8) The resurrection reminds us that Christ is not confined to our spaces and is on the loose in our world fulfilling his promises. Mark has demonstrated that God’s word is reliable, and every reader is invited to accept in faith the testimony of Christ resurrection. The story is not concluded because it continues in the life of every disciple that Christ is fulfilling his promises to.
