During Paul’s day, Greek culture was dominant and the Greeks were proud of their wisdom. Because of this atmosphere, the Corinthian believers were subject to following human wisdom which resulted in dividing the church. In this week’s lesson, Paul encouraged the Christians in Corinth to avoid trusting in human wisdom and focus on God’s wisdom.
We learn in today’s lesson text, the Apostle Paul blesses God for comfort in and deliverance out of troubles.
As the title of the lesson is penned, Micah was called to stand firm for God against such corruption and speak of the judgment that was to happen against both Israel and Judah.
