God forms our desire through communing with God and with one another. The practice of communion is a leveling reality that invites us to experience an encounter with Christ that transforms our desires. The practice of giving thanks in communion reminds us to honor one another, to examine ourselves, and to receive together in a manner that nourishes our hearts.
Point #1: Let us honor one another. Verse 11:18 For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you. And I believe it in part,
Point #2: Let us examine ourselves. Verse 11:28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
Point #3: Let us receive together. Verse 11:33 So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
