“Don’t Miss It” – John 6:1-15
Don’t miss what Jesus wants to reveal through your commitment to following him for a richer experience with his presence. Deeper insight is a possibility for every disciple that stirs their imagination in a crisis, appreciates the signs of abundance around them, and collects the evidence of Christ faithfulness.
Sermon Points
Point #1: Stir your imagination in a crisis. Verse 5-6 (NRSV) 5 Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?”6 He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.
Point #2: Appreciate the signs of abundance around us. Verse 10 (NRSV) Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number.
Point #3: Collect the evidence of Christ faithfulness. Verse 12 (NRSV) And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.”
