Scripture to Memorize
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
1 Timothy 2:8
Lesson Overview
The false teachers at Ephesus had confused the believers about how the church should corporately worship. In response to this crisis, Paul stressed in I Timothy 2 the importance of prayer, evangelism, and the proper teaching of God’s Word. He taught that believers should pray for their civic and national leaders, reach out to the unsaved with the Gospel, and respect the roles men and women perform in the church.
Life Awareness
In our busy, hectic world it is often hard to devote our attention and time to things that matter most – prayer, evangelism, and the teaching of God’s Word. Yet, when we fail to commune with the Lord every day or to reach out to the lost with the Gospel or to better understand the Scripture, our spiritual lives become weak and insipid. In this week’s lesson we will find the guidelines for corporate worship and emphasis on prayer, evangelism, and the ministry of scripture.
