The people of Israel wanted to be like the nations around them and later found out otherwise. In our life, we can reflect on the words in I John 2:15, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” – Supt. Janice Hall
Our lesson reminds us while God’s redemptive plan of salvation to save the world and bring all mankind to Himself began with Israel, it certainly did not end with Israel. His desire was to give His Son for the whole world, both Jews and Gentiles.
In our scripture lesson text, Peter was speaking and encouraging persecuted Christians, to live out the purpose of their lives in Christ.
In our lesson text today, we see Paul longs to occupy his eternal body described as a permanent house built by God Himself. Paul implores all to be reconciled to God in this way through faith in Jesus Christ.
