Romans 8:1-11 (ESV)
After Pentecost, believers sought to understand their living experiences with the Holy Spirit that could only be fully appreciated through Jesus Christ. When we refuse Satan’s lies and rely on Christ; the Holy Ghost transforms our routine activities, chooses us to experience freedom through Christ, and anchors our lives to what Jesus is doing.
Point #1: Transforms our routine activities. Verse 4:16 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.
Point #2: Chooses us to experience freedom through Christ. Verse 4:18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,
Point #3: Anchors our lives to what Jesus is doing. Verse 4:21 Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”
