Isaiah 6:1-8 (ESV)
God shapes our desire through worship so we are lovingly responsive to the call of God. Isaiah’s wholehearted and unhesitant response to God’s call can be attributed to his commitment to worship. In worship our love for God is formed by sensing the sovereign presence, appreciating the inspiration received from others devotion, and embracing the gift of confession.
Point #1: Sense the sovereign presence of God amidst trouble and among his people. Verse 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.
Point #2: Appreciate the inspiration received from others devotion. Verse 6:3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
Point #3: Embrace the gift of confession. Verse 6:5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”
