Scripture: Exodus 34:1-9 (NRSV)
Mercy is a womb for love that gives birth to new life. The wonders of this new life can bring fertility to our lives and our experience with God’s mercy anoints us to become merciful wombs of love for everyone around us. A womb of mercy provides a sanctuary for new life to begin for another, offers a steady environment for growth by faithfully holding the life of another, and guards/nurtures life for another that gives birth to kindness.

Verse 34:7 keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet by no means clearing the guilty, but visiting the iniquity of the parents upon the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
