Sermon Title: Move Different
Scripture: Exodus 14:10-20
Believers must be open to the reality that God is with us even when we don’t have the usual evidence of his presence. When we move differently than expected, we are stripped of our invincible appearance so God can cultivate a different kind of dependence in us. When you sense God cultivating a new kind of dependence with a different kind of move; cry out to God instead of complaining to people, listen for God’s response to move forward even with threats behind you, and remember that God has your back.
Point #1: Develop the practice of crying out to God instead of complaining to people. Verse 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.
Point #2: Listen for God’s response to move forward even with threats behind you. Verse 14:15 And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.
Point #3: God has our back and will guard us from behind. Verse 14:19 And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.
