The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”
Matthew 28:5-6
“It was early one Sunday Morning…” Those are the familiar words of many preachers today. But instead of gathering together as usual we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ differently this year. The reality of the early church can be imagined more similarly now. They were in their homes as we are. They spread the news among each other, speaking with friend and neighbor as we will do on this day.
The hope of Christ was felt in homes. It was personal. It was a radical message that made it’s way to where we lived. “But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you.’” (Mark 16:7)
Our prayer for you today, is that the power of resurrection and abundant hope in Jesus is sent right where you are…in your home.
Hallelujah, he is risen!
