Paul wrote this letter to the church in Ephesus, to give them an in-depth understanding of salvation. There was a need for the reconciliation of Gentiles and Jews, who were at odds in the days of Paul.
We are told in this week’s lesson, that yet again Israel had sinned against God with false idols, but God would not initially forgive and deliver them from their enemies.
This week's lesson reminds us of God's gracious rewards, as told through the parable of the vineyard owner and the laborers hired to harvest his crop of ripe grapes.
All of us should seek to take ownership of our choices and actions while recognizing that we still need help. The abiding presence of God is experienced where we all have enough to thrive.
